Case in point, the 2024 Traverse's 315-hp turbocharged four-cylinder offers 317 pound-feet of torque. That's a considerable bump from the 310-horsepower V-6, delivering a torque of 266 pound-feet.

Fuel economy estimates are speculative until the EPA releases its findings. However, we expect to see real-world mpg improvements over prior years' V-6 numbers. We look forward to greater fuel economy with the 2024 Chevy Traverse SUV, thanks to its new turbocharged four-cylinder engine. As a general rule, a turbocharged engine generates its power by forcing the exhaust energy back through the cylinders. The result is a lighter, more fuel-efficient engine capable of producing more horsepower than its naturally aspirated V-6 counterpart.

Using mileage estimates from mid-size SUV competitors' turbocharged four-cylinders, we can expect the redesigned Traverse to deliver increased mpg compared to its V-6 predecessor.

What's Not Covered

The bumper-to-bumper limited warranty does not include normal wear and tear on tires, routine maintenance, or damage caused by misuse, alterations, poor maintenance or accident. The power train warranty does not cover the following: coolant, cooling lines, connectors, wiring, sensors, hoses, radiators.

Safety Ratings

Based on the thoughtful redesign elements featured in the 2024 Chevy Traverse, we expect an improved National Highway Traffic Safety Administration score. Its 2023 predecessor received a respectable overall score of four out of five stars for its front-wheel-drive vehicles, and its AWD models garnered five stars. However, the 2023 mid-size SUV competitors generally surpassed the Traverse by one star. Some of the standard safety features introduced in the 2024 Traverse should help it ascend the NHTSA ranks. Notable driver assistance additions include forward collision warning combined with emergency braking and pedestrian and cyclist detection. The standard package also includes blind-spot monitoring outfitted with rear cross-traffic alert.

The redesigned 2024 Chevrolet Traverse truck comfortably accommodates a large family with generous cargo space. Once your eyes move past the considerable 17.7-inch infotainment screen, you appreciate the overall attention to detail in every aspect of the updated mid-size SUV. For one thing, comfort and cargo space take center stage. To free up extra space, GM's engineers moved the gear shifter from the center console to the steering column. You also have passenger seating options, such as a second-row bench or captain's chairs. Everything slides forward for easy third-row access. In fact, if your passenger seating includes a front-facing child seat, you don't need to bother removing it to slide the seats. It's all controlled with the touch of a button. The third-row seating comfortably accommodates two adults, and they're able to press a button to exit without waiting for others' assistance. If you're only interested in transporting cargo, all rear seats fold flat to accommodate 97.6 cubic feet of space. If there's one word that describes the redesigned 2024 Chevrolet Traverse's exterior, it's rugged. The third-generation mid-size SUV trades in its minivan appearance and seizes a more truck-like silhouette to capture a larger SUV audience. Playing to a new off-road appearance, the Traverse design swaps out its rounded exterior features for sharper design elements. While each trim offers a slightly different look, they all share an aggressive, boxy appearance. The massive black grille immediately draws your attention to the front of the vehicle, while the Chevy side-eye headlights feature prominently on your approach. You'll also notice the new alloy split-spoke wheel design, adding sportiness to the overall design.
